Availability Calendars

I’ve been thinking about availability calendars this week. I’m writing this blog from Orlando where I’m on vacation with my family. I bet you can guess which tickets we’re buying… if you guessed WDW, then you’re right!

We don’t plan too far in advance for our park days; we like to save our park trip for the coolest day of vacation so that we can spend the hottest days at the pool. I’ve been regularly checking the availability calendar to make sure that EPCOT is still available when we want to go.

My SIL is on vacation with us and she’s a massage therapist. Every Sunday she automatically sends out an availability calendar to her clients and we got to talking about how great they are. As a customer, I love an availability calendar as a quick visual glance at what’s available in the next two weeks and what works with my schedule.

As a ticketeer, who has worked on long-running Broadway shows that have 8 performances a week, I can see how effective an availability calendar can be at pushing audiences into performances that need help with sales.

I’d love to see more museums, parks, and shows use availability calendars because it helps me plan as a visual person.

Next week, I’ll share all about our WDW EPCOT experience.

See you next Tuesday!
