Breaking Records (Taylor’s Version)

We’re in our “women-breaking-records era” and this week it’s Taylor’s Version.

Last year we saw Taylor Swift dominate in the ticketing market becoming the first tour EVER to gross over $1 billion, bringing in an estimated 11.3% of the entire $9.17 billion Top 100 Worldwide Tour Chart gross. According to Pollstar’s 2023 chart year, Ms. Swift grossed $1,039,263,762, selling 4,349,363 tickets across 60 shows. More than the next two highest grossing tours (Beyonce and Bruce Springsteen) combined! On average, each show grossed $17,321,063 with 72,489 tickets for an ATP of $238.95.

On her tour, Taylor broke a handful of stadium attendance records:

  • Highest three-day attendance totals ever at;
    • MetLife Stadium (217,635) in NY/NJ
    • AT&T Stadium (210,607) in Dallas
  • Single-day attendance records were broken at;
    • Acrisure Stadium (73,117) in Pittsburgh
    • Lumen Field (72,171) in Seattle
    • Nissan Stadium (71K) in Nashville

With the tour continuing with 65 concerts in 2024, it’s anticipated that the musician will gross another $1.125B, bringing the tour total to an astonishing $2.165 billion!

I highly recommend watching The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version), which comes to Disney+ this Friday. Even if you aren’t a “Swiftie”, the production quality of the stadium tour makes it an excellent concert that translates well to the screen. The film version also broke some ticketing records – making it the highest grossing concert film of all time at nearly $250 million in worldwide box office sales.
