World Theatre Day is March 27th and to celebrate I want to reflect on how theatre has impacted my life. It led me to my current career in ticketing and it ignited my passion for all live events.
To me, the real magic of theatre has always been that there was a role for everyone, both onstage and off. Actors, singers, dancers, directors, stage managers, costume designers, prop masters, electricians, ushers, house managers, box office staff, and the list goes on. No matter who you are, the theatre always has a place just for you!
Not to go all the way back to the beginning but, I was 6 years old when I was cast in my first show, Babes in Toyland at the Twinsburg Community Theatre. I went on to perform in a handful of shows with TCT throughout the years, a highlight was playing Nana in Peter Pan. Theatre for youth builds so many great skills for kids and is important as we continue to foster the next generation of theatre-makers, theatre-goers, and theater-lovers.

In high school I did everything from props, to costumes, to lighting, and my senior year I served as president of drama club and was cast as the lead in The Curious Savage.
I knew I would pursue a life in theatre so I went on to get my Bachelors of Arts in Theatre Studies and then I moved to NYC to start my career. I quickly realized the nights and weekends show schedule was not for me and that I’d much prefer to work a 9 to 5 job which is how I was introduced to the world of ticketing.
As we move into a more digital age, I like to be reminded about what I love most about theatre, how it can bring people together. I love getting to use my passion for technology and data to connect artists with audiences.
